10" Full-Disc Center-Stitch Mirror Shine Buffing Wheels For Metal Finishing (Loose Ply with 1/2" Arbor Hole)

Our 10" Full-Disc Center-Stitch Mirror Shine Buffing Wheels are crafted from a dense, tightly woven 100% cotton material, and should be your go-to buffing wheel for achieving a flawless, showroom-worthy finish on your polished metal surfaces. The tight weave of the cotton fabric is meant to minimize hash lines and also help with proper heat generation (due to its density). Their versatility extends beyond metal, making them perfect for polishing urethane, polyurethane, and cultured marble surfaces.

    Choosing the Right Polishing Compounds

For the best results, pair our Full-Disc Center-Stitch Mirror Shine Buffing Wheels with the right compounds. We recommend our Blue Rouge CompoundCompetition Purple Compound, or our Blueberry Ultra Fine Synthetic Finishing Compound. The Competition Purple Compound and Blueberry Ultra Fine Synthetic Finishing Compound have lower melting points and offer a superior finish in mild or dry conditions, while the Blue Rouge Compound, with its higher melting point, is better suited for hot or humid conditions.

    Pro Tip: Buffing Wheel Maintenance

Always keep your buffing wheels in optimal condition by regularly using a buffing wheel rake or a Natural Pumice Stone. To do this, ensure that the buffing wheel is spinning at its usual speed and securely hold the rake or stone against it, either with a stationary bench grinder or lathe. When using a grinder, exercise caution and use your feet to secure the rake or stone to the ground while holding the angle grinder to it. Cleaning your buffing wheel removes hardened and burned-on polishing and buffing compounds from the edges, improving efficiency and surface quality. If you notice a significant decrease in the amount of residual metal dust produced during buffing, it's a clear sign that it's time to clean the buffing wheel and reapply a small amount of metal polishing compound.

    Ideal Polisher/Grinder Recommendations

For optimal results, we recommend the following polishers/grinders to use with our Sewn Buffing Wheels:

    • MAKITA 9237C: The best 3,500 RPM polishing machine, suitable for both professionals and beginners.

    • MAKITA GA7021: The best 6,000 RPM polishing machine, ideal for professionals seeking top-tier performance.

    Optimal Operating Speed

To ensure precision and control during your polishing tasks, run our Full-Disc Center-Stitch Mirror Shine Buffing Wheels at at range near 1,600 to 2,000RPMs.
